Heal Your Gut, Heal Your Life.
I recently moved and began the new and somewhat disorientating experience called EMPTY NEST Syndrome. So weird…
Have you experienced this?
In my time away from emailing you and writing blogs, I have been setting up a recording studio for youtube videos and some courses I will be offering online soon. HAPPY Dance!
I am REALLY excited about this. It has been a passion project for a few years, but I needed all of the gear and the studio. Now I will be unstoppable. Muhahaha
I am going to start with a series of videos, some with cartoons, and some with questionnaires to help you check in with your organs, hormones, neurotransmitters, and other functions that determine your health and how fast you age.
‘All Disease Starts in the gut!’ – Hippocrates, 400 BC
If you are familiar with my work, you know that I help people improve their health with an Ancestral Diet, Resistance Training, Qi Gong, and Meditation. I focus on these things because each of us has a unique combination of concerns, interests, and needs.
Having said that, in the simplest terms, your Gut provides you with ALL of your nutrients, most of your neurotransmitters, your Gut also helps regulate your hormones and most of your metabolism and makes up to 75% of your immune system. Whew! Your Gut is one busy helper.
So, I called this email ‘Heal Your Gut, Heal Your Life’.
I could have called this heal your gut and get healthy,
– or, lose weight
– or, sleep better
– or, look younger
But I said Heal Your Life!
That has meant a lot of different things to me over the years, and I am sure you could list off your top five memories of ‘Healing Your Life’
If you are not sure what that really means to you right now, you are actually luckier than those of us who have to focus on solving a specific and chronic problem. If you feel excited to take another swing at that old habit, or sub-conscious belief system – put those on hold for a moment.
Healing your gut can go as deep as the ‘rabbit hole’ goes. It is can also be as easy as cleaning your house. And the fun and cool thing about actually doing your chores every day, or attending to your Tummie’s general health, at least a little, every day is you get to reflect on how you solve problems and handle a bit of Self-Evaluation.
Imagine committing ten days to a specific fitness challenge, or 2-hour long daily meditation training, or not eating breakfast for three months. Imagine seeing yourself enjoying the rewards of doing the best for yourself every day – in some way. Adaptable and Practical.
What About Driinking a liter of water in the first two hours of your day?
Never a bad thing…
There is an old saying that goes, “Progress only happens through a process.” Obvious, I know.
But, now that we are talking about committing a few weeks to get to know your digestive system, it is a great chance to get to know yourself in that way.
Focused on the positive, taking care of the details, getting the connection and inspiration you need. Sticking with the PROCESS and making PROGRESS!
Healing Your Life… Whatever that means this year…
So, since you take the time to read my posts, or listen to the podcast, or watch the youtube videos, I thought I would return the gesture by creating a Weekly Inner Check-in.
Thanks again, BTW. It means a lot.
Each week for the next few months, I will be sending an email or post about each of your organs, hormones, neurotransmitters, vitamins, minerals, meridians and anything you may request.
The fun part will be the Questionnaires.
Yep. I am going to make some basic online quizzes about health. You will be able to do a personal check-up with each and every important part of you.
This is going to be fun!
I am going to focus on the digestive system for the next few weeks. If you have a part of the body you want to learn more about, I will put it in the inbox and do my best to make it interesting and fun.
I am publishing the Second Edition of my popular book, ‘Returning to an Ancestral Diet’. WOOT WOOT!
About 4 years ago, I Self Published the very successful Book/Cookbook, ‘Returning to an Ancestral Diet’. After some Awesome feedback, it is time to update the book and make it even better.
The Second Edition will focus more on the Ancestral Autoimmune Protocol, a clearer step-by-step approach, and more pictures of yummy food. This protocol is central to my work as a clinician and it is my life as a patient.
The money raised will mostly be for the graphic designer, the editor, and all of the other magic that makes scribbles on napkins turn into books. I will also need some time to sit still and finish that last few details.
I would be grateful for your support.
